Time for chapter 2.1.1, "Les rues de Paris dans ce temps-là," aka "The Streets of Paris at this Period" or "The Streets of Paris at that Time."

Today's discussion post is for 1.2.8, "9 = 380." Victor Hugo's math strikes again?

Okay, I was hoping I could gather more from context, but so far I am rather lost on the whole topic of assignats. I gather they are paper, and official-type paper at that, and the English are perfidious paper- fakers, but beyond that all I know of assignats is that they were occasionally  huge and represented by teeny Camille Desmoulins. Er, at least if certain cartoonists are to be believed. Can anyone give me Relevant Backstory here?

Oops, sorry guys -- I fell asleep early last night and didn't get this up at midnight like usual.

Anyway, here is the post for discussion of 1.2.4, "Tormentum Belli." Which is in Latin, and thus as far as I know the same across all versions. (Unless you've got one that translates it?)

Well, actually technically it was live back on day 1, but it has content now! I know I said I was going to wait five days before posting but I got impatient tomorrow needs to be All Homework All The Time chez Tamara, and I am trying to minimize distractions as much as possible.

But yes, if you're curious what's happening on the tumblr side of things (or if you haven't kept up with all the reblog chains on tumblr, which I know I hadn't) then check out the ClubNinetyThree Wiki Archive and read everyone's thoughts on 1.1.1 (plus a couple extras that have already popped up in the tag).

1.2.1 should be up on Saturday unless I fail to have self control, in which case it'll be up tomorrow night.
